When I created this piece (which was for my father, who is a singer/songwriter, guitarist and recording artist), I had several things in mind besides it being a tribute to him, his talents and lifelong love of music.
First, according to science, everything in the universe has its own vibration due to being made up of atoms which are constantly in motion. This creates, in a sense, a unique sonic signature in every living thing.
Secondly, the quote by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, who wrote, “Music is the universal language of mankind.”
And lastly, the theory of musica universalis (literally universal music), also called music of the spheres or harmony of the spheres - a philosophical concept that regards proportions in the movements of celestial bodies—the Sun, Moon, and planets—as a form of music.
